Changing Streets
Changing Streets is a campaign to inspire and enable you to take action to improve your street. Too often people feel they have to wait for the council to sort out something that, with a little help from their neighbours, they could make a start on themselves. Changing Streets aims to help people take charge of their own streets, and make a real difference, improving the streets in which we live, work, relax and play. Changing Streets brings local people, professionals, and politicians together in a movement to improve everyone's streets.
Its goals include:

Improving the atmosphere of your street, and increasing the value of your home.

Creating a stronger, friendlier neighbourhood

Creating a place that feels safe and comfortable

Making you proud to live where you do

Giving you the power to make changes to your environment
The Changing Streets Campaign uses:
Placecheck
A method that helps you find out what needs to be improved and how to improve it. It can be used for anything from a quick check of the street, right up to preparing the ground for a major improvement plan. The tool is there for you to use.
Partnerships
Between neighbours, between local authorities and local media, between the people who make things happen locally. You will get out more than you put in. TimeBank will point you to your local partners.
(includes PlaceCheck guide, progress sheets, local contact details and an info pack)
